Santa Monica Stairs

I work in Santa Monica and as a therapist, my schedule can get a bit funky. Sometimes I find myself with a long break and nothing to do. I had heard about the Santa Monica stairs as a very hard workout and wanted to give it a try. The stairs are two sets of 200 stairs. One is wooden (I prefer this one) and the other is concrete. This is an amazing workout, but half the fun of it is the people watching. The stairs are full or Angelenos who are very into fitness. Occasionally there will be an old man clad in plaid PJs and leather work shoes, or a woman wearing healed flip flops--but I guess it's LA so anything goes!

I'm getting married!

I used to be a firm believer that a person could fall in love and choose many different people as a spouse. Now that I have Chad and I think about our relationship, I question these thoughts. I can not picture being with anyone else for the rest of my life. I know I love him and feel that God led me to him.

Life as a Therapist

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. This means I have my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy and working on the daunting task of completing 3,000 hours to become licensed. I am learning and growing daily from this challenging job. I find myself praying for strength and wisdom daily. I want to instill hope in my clients as they maneuverer through their incredibly difficult life circumstances. I want them to have a renewed zest for life. I am constantly humbled and grateful for the individuals who come into my office and share their story with me. The therapeutic relationship is a sacred space that I do not take lightly. The heaviness of the stories stays with me at times and I feel the weight as I carry their story. I pray that I continue to grow and learn. Thankfully, my clients teach me new things each day that inspire me to push forward in my own life journey.

Life in Manhattan Beach

I live in Manhattan Beach, California. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite places. I love everything from the morning birds and crashing waves to the smiling faces and quaint shops. The city is known for its beautiful landscapes, accessibility to Los Angeles, and fantastic restaurants.
My favorite things about this place include the wood chip path perfect for running, the strand boardwalk for a bike ride, the small friendly restaurants and shopping, and the beautiful spacious beach.
